Ola Electric to Expand Store Network to 4,000 Locations by Christmas, Says CEO Bhavish Aggarwal

Ola Electric is on an aggressive expansion drive, with plans to establish 4,000 retail stores across India by Christmas this year. CEO Bhavish Aggarwal announced the ambitious goal, stating that the company aims to secure its presence in “every town, city, and tehsil.” This rapid growth is part of Ola’s strategy to dominate the burgeoning electric vehicle (EV) market and make EV adoption more accessible to consumers across the country.

The expansion is expected to significantly enhance Ola’s footprint in the EV space, providing consumers with easier access to its scooters and related services. The move aligns with the company’s long-term vision of creating a robust and widespread ecosystem for EVs in India. This network of stores will serve as touchpoints for sales, service, and customer engagement, addressing one of the critical barriers to EV adoption—accessibility and service support.

Ola’s push comes at a time when the Indian government is strongly promoting the EV sector through incentives and infrastructure development. By targeting underserved regions, Ola Electric is setting itself apart from competitors who primarily focus on metropolitan markets. The move could help the company capture a larger market share in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, where demand for sustainable mobility is steadily growing.

CEO Bhavish Aggarwal emphasized that the expansion reflects Ola’s commitment to making EVs a mainstream choice for Indian consumers. “Our goal is to make EVs accessible to every household in the country. By reaching every corner of India, we are not just selling vehicles but also driving a transformation in how India commutes,” he stated. The company also plans to roll out innovative financing options and other initiatives to make EVs more affordable for a broader audience.

With the store count set to quadruple from its current numbers, Ola Electric’s expansion is being closely watched by industry analysts. If successful, the move could solidify its position as a leader in the EV market while inspiring other players to rethink their strategies. As Christmas approaches, Ola’s bold initiative signals a new era for EV retail in India, potentially setting the stage for further innovation and competition in the sector.
